God is a Zionist

Jews for Jesus executive director David Brickner asserted recently that God is a Zionist. He made this statement in the latest issue of our electronic publication Realtime, in an article discussing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

This outspoken leader has made the destruction of the Jewish people a matter of stated policy for his powerful nation. At his recent "World Without Zionism" conference in Tehran, Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be destroyed, (bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad) more literally translated from Persian, "vanish from the page of time."

According to Brickner, "people who do not see God at work in the movements of more recent history should remember the lessons of the past. Unfortunately, too many today get caught up in polarizing views on eschatology or the pull toward political correctness. These issues cloud the crux of the conflict over Israel today, which is not as much about land or politics as it is about the survival of the Jewish people. And when it comes to the issue of Israel's survival, I believe that God Himself is a Zionist. "

Is God a Zionist? Does He still care today about the survival of the Jewish people? We Jews for Jesus believe He does. After all, the apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Romans: "God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be!" (Romans 11:1 NASB)

You are so accustomed to attributing to G-d human properties that you downgrade His Name to human dirty politics. No wonder, however.
Nobody has so far explained why the JFJ is not a failed PR project. Is it?

Mikhail,

With respect, it doesn't seem as if you've really gotten the point of what the post is about. It's not about politics, it's God's promises and His redemption.

As to your question as to whether Jews for Jesus is a failed PR project, the answer is "no."

Dear Chad
The problem is, I have gotten the point of what you meant.
Another problem is, G-d is above and beyond human definitions.
What you mean to say by writing this article is clear to any Jew fully aware of what is implied by the 1st Principle of Faith, and by default at that. That is why I dare to say I am right in claiming that saying G-d is Zionist or communiist or democrat implies downgrading His Holy Name. Though, sure the Zionists, communists and democrats are governed, are dependent upon, His Will, as is, no questions asked, the entire Creation. Amen?

Please kindly expound on why you think the JFJ is NOT a failed PR project. The feedback of your target group, i.e. more than 70% of all comments on all the articles of the JFJ website, seems to suggest the opposite. Toda raba.

Mikhail,

Actually, it would indicate the OPPOSITE. If 70% of the comments on our website are, as you assert, from Jewish commentators, then we have indeed successfully made the Messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue to those Jewish people -- which is why we exist.

Chag sameach!
